MARCH 2026
Cleopatra and Frankenstein is one of those books that completely pulls you into the lives of its characters. Messy, emotional, and beautifully written, it explores love, identity, and relationships in such a raw and modern way. The story feels glamorous and chaotic all at once, making it hard to put down. A compelling read to slowly soak up poolside this summer.

FEBRUARY 2026
Although a little absent from the blog, we've been reading!!
Our February book recommendation is a truly unique, I Who Have Never Known Men, by Jacqueline Harpman. This short but powerful novel tells the story of a young woman who has grown up underground, among a group of women, never coming in contact with men, until she is liberated, by chance, and steps out into a vast, untouched, dystopian world.
Simple, thoughtful, and unforgettable, it explores isolation, survival, and what it means to be human. Perfect for getting lost in on a quiet afternoon, whether you’re at the beach or curled up at home. Really keeps you thinking about the book past the last page.

AUGUST 2025
In same spirit as our June recommendation The Glass Castle, Education is a memoir about a girl growing up in a mormon family in rural Idaho, with parents who don't believe in schools, doctors, or the government. Her home life was chaotic, and often violent, but the author overcomes and finds her way through books, pushing from her family values and making her way to university where she discovers a new self. This story is as wild as it is inspiring. So addicting you might soak it all up in one beach day!
Important note for the reader, Education contains some gruesome scenes and domestic abuse.
JULY 2025
Our July book recommendation is a truly special one, My Brilliant Friend, the first in Elena Ferrante’s powerful four-part Neapolitan series. (so if you like it, you can enjoy 3 more books!) Originally written in Italian and later adapted into the gripping HBO series, this novel follows the lifelong friendship between two women, Elena and Lila, from their childhood in 1950s post-war Naples through decades of challenges, rivalry, and friendship.
Set against the backdrop of a gritty, vibrant Italy, it’s poetic, and raw, perfect for getting lost in, whether you’re on the beach or curled up at home watching the series.

Starting June off strong with potentially the best book around!
The Glass Castle is a must-read, the autobiography of Jeannette Walls is an astonishing story that is the definition of a page turner, you'll want to soak it all up! Her and her family dynamic brings an interesting outlook on life, it is inspiring, compelling and shocking! Wear some sunscreen as you won't feel the time fly as you dive deep through this one!
